We do not collect, track, sell, or transmit any personally identifiable information, browsing history, keystrokes, form inputs, IP logs, or personal files. All browser extensions and web tools published on Gaurav Labs process data 100% locally on your own device.
2. Browser Extension Details (Highlight Ads & Others)
Extensions built by Gaurav Labs, including Highlight Ads Detector, MyLinks Dashboard,Smartboard, RedirectWise, and Screencrafter, operate under strict on-device sandboxing:
- Highlight Ads Detector: Inspects page elements locally using public EasyList rules. It outlines ad spaces with your chosen color and calculates a tab count badge. No browsing data, URL history, or click events ever leave your browser.
- MyLinks Dashboard: Bookmarks are read directly from your local browser bookmark database and categorized locally. No bookmark links are uploaded to any cloud server.
- Screencrafter & Smartboard: Screenshots, canvas notes, and annotations are stored in local browser storage (`chrome.storage.local`) or downloaded directly to your disk.
3. Extension Permissions Justification
storageUsed exclusively to persist your chosen preferences (such as color themes, on/off switches) and cache public detection rules on your hard drive.
tabs / activeTabUsed strictly to display per-tab count badges on the extension icon and send toggle commands to the active tab.
host permissions (<all_urls>)Required solely so content scripts can outline ad elements on web pages you choose to browse. We do not inspect or transmit private page content.
4. Network Connections
The only automated outbound network connection made by Highlight Ads is downloading the public EasyList filter text file from https://easylist.to periodically to keep ad detector rules current. No user identifiers, cookies, or telemetry headers are attached to this request.
5. Website Analytics & Cookies
The Gaurav Labs portfolio website (gauravlabs.com) does not use tracking cookies, invasive advertising scripts, or cross-site tracking beacons.
